The Prey of the Mountain

In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, a group of a dozen hikers, all members of the Hidden Path Hiking Club sought adventure, venturing off the marked trail in search of the untamed wilderness. Their hearts pounded with excitement as they delved deeper into the maze of treacherous peaks, the sun casting long shadows that danced across the rugged terrain.

The path they followed grew fainter, the dense foliage obscuring their vision. As they scrambled over rocks and through dense undergrowth, a sense of unease crept into their hearts. The air grew heavy, the silence punctuated only by the rustling of leaves and the occasional snap of a twig.

Their compass malfunctioned, its needle spinning wildly, further disorienting them. Night fell, casting the mountains in an eerie darkness. They huddled together for warmth, their voices echoing in the stillness of the forest.

As the night wore on, an unsettling feeling washed over them. They sensed a presence, an unseen entity lurking in the shadows, watching their every move. The air grew colder, and a chill ran down their spines.

The next day, their fears were confirmed. One of the hikers, Sarah, found herself standing by a deep ravine, her eyes glazed over, a feral expression on her face. She lunged at another hiker, her teeth bared, her hunger for human flesh insatiable.

A panicked struggle ensued, the hikers grappling with each other, their primal instinct to survive overriding their humanity. Sarah’s eyes glowed with an eerie red light, her fangs piercing the flesh of her victim.

The remaining hikers watched in horror as Sarah’s transformation complete. She was no longer the person they knew; she was a creature of the night, driven by an insatiable hunger.

One by one, the others succumbed to the same fate, their minds corrupted by the ancient evil that lurked in the mountains. The once-harmonious group of friends was now a pack of ravenous creatures, their thirst for blood insatiable.

The mountains echoed with their predatory calls, a chilling symphony of madness and bloodlust. They roamed the wilderness, their hunger for human flesh growing stronger with each passing night.

The few survivors, driven by fear and desperation, fled into the darkness, seeking refuge from the creatures they had become. They carried within them the darkness of the mountains, a secret that would forever haunt their souls.

The mountains were left to the creatures of the night, their secrets hidden beneath the veil of darkness. The hikers’ journey of adventure had taken a horrifying turn, leaving behind a chilling tale of transformation, madness, and the insatiable hunger for human flesh.
