The Depths of Despair

I’m a scientist, working on a new form of energy that could revolutionize the world. We’ve been drilling deep into the Earth’s crust, searching for the source of this energy. We’ve found it, but it’s not what we expected.

It’s like a living thing, pulsating with a dark, primal power. It’s so strong that it’s causing earthquakes and volcanic eruptions around the world. We’re trying to control it, but it’s too powerful. We’re afraid it’s going to destroy the planet.

I’m the only one who can see this threat. My colleagues are blinded by their enthusiasm for the new energy source. They don’t believe me when I tell them what’s happening. They think I’m just being paranoid.

I have to do something. I have to warn the world. But I don’t know how. I’m just one scientist. Who will believe me?

I’m running out of time. The earthquakes are getting stronger. The volcanoes are erupting more frequently. The damage is already catastrophic. If I don’t do something soon, it will be too late.

I have a plan. It’s risky, but it’s the only chance we have. I have to go into the depths of the Earth and destroy the source of this energy myself.

I know the risks. I could die. But I have to do it. For the sake of the planet, I have to do it.

I’m going in.

Update: I’ve reached the source of the energy. It’s a massive, pulsating orb of darkness. I have to destroy it.

I’ve activated the self-destruct sequence. It’s counting down.

3…2…1…

The orb implodes. The energy is released. It’s overwhelming.

I’m being pulled into the void. I can’t hold on any longer.

I’m falling.

I’m going to die.

Do I regret my actions?

No.
