Scene 1: In the heart of the mountain range
Detective
I’m here to find the missing mountaineer.
Search party member
You’re too late, Detective. He’s gone.
Detective
What do you mean?
Search party member
We found his pack, his rope, his crampons. But no sign of him.
Detective
(Shakes head)
This is getting weirder by the minute.
Scene 2: In the depths of the mountain
Detective
I’m following the trail, but it’s getting fainter.
Shadow figure
You’re not alone, Detective.
Detective
(Turns around, but no one is there)
Who’s there?
Shadow figure
(Voice echoes)
The mountain is listening, Detective.
Scene 3: At the peak of the mountain
Detective
I’ve reached the top. But there’s nothing here.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blows, and the Detective is knocked off his feet.
Detective
(Holds on to a rock)
I’m losing my grip!
Shadow figure
(Voice whispers)
Let go, Detective.
Detective
No! I’m not giving up.
With a final burst of strength, the Detective pulls himself up and reaches for the summit.
Detective
(Reaches the summit)
I did it!
But as he gets to his feet, he sees something that makes his blood run cold.
The mountaineer is standing there, but he’s not moving. His eyes are blank, and his skin is pale as snow.
Detective
(Astonished)
What’s wrong with you?
The mountaineer doesn’t answer. He just stares at the Detective with those empty eyes.
Detective
(Nervously)
Hey, are you okay?
The mountaineer suddenly lunges at the Detective, knocking him to the ground.
Detective
(Struggling)
What are you doing?
The mountaineer claws at the Detective’s face, trying to gouge out his eyes.
Detective
(Fighting back)
Get off me!
The two men struggle for a few more moments, but the mountaineer is too strong. He finally overpowers the Detective and pins him to the ground.
The mountaineer raises his arm above his head, ready to strike.
Detective
(Eyes wide with fear)
Please, don’t!
The mountaineer brings his arm down, and the Detective feels a sharp pain in his chest.
Detective
(Gasps)
Oh God…
The mountaineer stands over the Detective, his eyes gleaming with a dark, sinister light.
Shadow figure
(Voice whispers)
The mountain claimed another soul.
The detective looks up at the shadow figure, but it’s gone.
The mountaineer suddenly collapses to the ground, lifeless.
The detective lies there, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
Detective
(Weakly)
Did I… did I defeat the mountain?
The end.
