The Shadow of Oblivion

I’m Dr. Evelyn Vance, a scientist on a mission to save humanity. We traveled to a distant planet to investigate a strange energy source that could be the key to our survival.

The energy source is located in a deep cavern, guarded by ancient ruins. We descended into the cavern, our flashlights cutting through the darkness.

The ruins were ancient, their walls covered in strange hieroglyphics. As we ventured deeper into the cavern, we found a pool of swirling energy. The energy was dark and ominous, pulsating with an otherworldly light.

We cautiously approached the pool, our hearts pounding in our chests. As we got closer, the energy seemed to grow stronger, pulling us towards it.

I reached out and touched the energy, and a jolt of electricity shot through me. I screamed in pain, but the energy held me captive.

The other scientists tried to pull me away, but they couldn’t. I was trapped, unable to move or speak.

The energy was consuming me, filling my mind with darkness and despair. I was losing my grip on reality, slipping into the abyss of Oblivion.

Suddenly, the energy vanished, leaving me alone in the silence of the cavern. I collapsed to the ground, my body trembling.

I looked up at the other scientists, who were staring at me in disbelief.

“What happened?” one of them asked.

“I don’t know,” I replied. “But I think I’m alive.”

I stood up and looked around the cavern. The ruins were still there, but the pool of energy was gone.

I turned to the other scientists. “We need to get out of here,” I said. “Now.”

We ran out of the cavern, our footsteps echoing through the darkness.

I looked back at the entrance, and I saw a shadow emerge from the darkness. The shadow was tall and slender, with glowing eyes.

It was the shadow of Oblivion, and it was coming for me.

Do I run or do I fight?
