The Haunted Cupcake

I lift the cupcake, its white base like the smooth surface of a cloud, the red rose a perfect, unnatural crimson against it. I touch the rose, its frosting cool and smooth under my fingers. I pull it gently from the cupcake, and a gasp escapes my lips.

The rose is no longer a delicate confection. Its petals writhe and twist, like living vines reaching for my skin. The thorns, sharp and deadly, pierce my flesh, and a venomous liquid seeps into my veins.

I stare at my hand, now a sickly shade of green, as the liquid spreads through my body, turning my skin a poisonous green. I watch in horror as my fingers turn into thorny claws, my arms into vines, my body into a grotesque parody of the cupcake itself.

The venomous liquid reaches my heart, and I gasp, my breath coming in ragged gasps. I am a monster, a prisoner in my own body, a living cupcake.

Will I ever be free?
