On International Mountain Day, a group of intrepid time travelers ventured into the depths of the Himalayas, hoping to uncover a hidden artifact that would allow them to traverse the vast expanse of time. Their quest led them to an ancient cave, where they discovered a mysterious, flickering candle, its wax aglow with an ethereal light.
Intrigued by the artifact’s potential, the time travelers carefully transported the candle back to their base camp. Upon closer examination, they discovered an ancient inscription etched into the candle’s base: “A single flame to light the path to any era, but beware the future’s embrace, for it may hold you captive forevermore.”
Curiosity piqued, the time travelers decided to test the candle’s power. One by one, they lit the candle, and in a blinding flash of light, they were transported to different points in the future. They marveled at the technological advancements, the societal changes, and the wonders that awaited humanity in the years to come.
However, as they ventured further into the future, they noticed a disturbing trend. The world was becoming increasingly chaotic, the environment deteriorating, and society crumbling under the weight of its own progress. They realized that they had ventured too far, and the future held no promise for humanity.
Determined to escape their predicament, the time travelers tried to reverse their journey, using the candle to return to their own time. However, the candle seemed to have lost its power, and they were trapped in the future, forever adrift in a world that was no longer their own.
